The powerful and influential cleansing energies of the moon can be harnessed and preserved by making moon water.
Moon water is water that has been charged by the energies of the moon. Preferably, the moon water is collected during a full moon, supermoon, or new moon where the energy is heightened and most effective.
Moon water can be used for rituals, spell work, brewing magical potions and elixirs, healing, cleansing, manifestation, and much more. Moon water may be used for anything you are directed to use water for, even in your coffee, tea, or bath water!
To make moon water, you’ll first want to start with a clean container, glass, or jar. I use glass mason jars because I find the seal and lid come in handy, however any container or glass will work for making moon water. If your glass or container does not have a lid, you can always use plastic wrap as a cover for your glass if needed.
Once you have your glass, the next step is to add clean water to your glass. Make sure you use purified, spring or distilled water if you are going to ingest your moon water. I use the filtered tap water from my home as my go to when I am making moon water.
Now that your glass is full of water, you will want to place it under the moonlight to charge and absorb the energies from the moon. This could be leaving your glass of water outside, on a porch, by a window sill, in your car, outside in your yard, or even in the woods. Anywhere that your jar can access the moonlight will work perfectly.
You will want to leave your glass of water charging under the moon overnight. This will allow the water to be fully cleansed and charged by the moon’s energies. Once the jar has sat under the moonlight overnight, voilà.. you now have some powerful moon water!
Seven Ways to Use Moon Water
Drink moon water. Drink moon water to hydrate, cleanse, heal and empower yourself with the energy of the moon. You can make your daily coffee, tea or favorite drink using your moon water!
Moon Bath. Adding a few cups of moon water to the bath will give your body and energy field a powerful cleanse. You can add crystals and essential oils to the bath for the ultimate self cleansing and self love ritual.
Cleanse & Charge Crystals. Charge and cleanse your crystals with moon water. Place your crystals in a jar with some moon water to cleanse and charge your crystals and stones. Ensure your crystals are water safe before completing this step, as softer crystals like Selenite, Moonstone, Amber, and Angelite can get damaged and break down in the water.
Cleansing Spray. Use it as a daily aura cleanse or smudge spray. Place some moon water in a spray bottle and spray around your aura and home to cleanse your energy and space. You could even add some essential oils to your spray for the added benefits and aromatherapy.
Water your plants. Plants can benefit from the powerful energies of the moon water. Pour some moon water over your plants and watch them renew and grow from the nourishing energies of the moon water.
Manifestation. Place moon water in a cup or glass on your altar or sacred space to help amplify your intentions, goals, and manifestations.
Diffuse your moon water. Place moon water into your aromatherapy oil diffuser with the essential oil to cleanse the air and your space. Moon water can enhance the effectiveness of the oils you use.
