The Full Moon is a time of heightened energy, activity and emotions. Full moon energy rises three days before the full moon, the day of the full moon, and the three days after. Although there are many activities that can be done during the Full Moon, below I’ve listed 11 different ways you can harness and work with the powerful and magical energy of the Full Moon!
Charge your Crystals & Stones
Cleansing your crystals from any energy it may have accumulated since your last cleansing is always a great thing to do during the Full Moon cycle. The Full Moon is the perfect time to cleanse and charge your crystals and stones because of the heightened energy from the Full Moon. The moon is a natural deep cleanser and is easily accessible to cleanse and charge your stones.
The energy is the most powerful during the new moon and full moon cycles so that is one of the best times to use this method. Leave your crystals outside to bathe in the moon energies for at least 4 hours or overnight to achieve a deep cleansing and charging.
If you are worried about leaving your crystals outdoors you can also place them by a window sill or in your car under the windshield. All of the residual energy, negative energy, and toxicity the crystal has accumulated since your last cleansing will be released and purified so your crystal will be ready to work with its full potential.

Make Moon Water
The powerful and influential cleansing energies of the moon can be harnessed and preserved by making moon water. Moon water is water that has been charged by the energies of the moon. Preferably, the moon water is collected during a full moon, supermoon, or new moon where the energy is heightened and most effective.
Moon water can be used for rituals, spell work, brewing magical potions and elixirs, healing, cleansing, manifestation, and much more. Moon water may be used for anything you are directed to use water for, even in your coffee, tea, or bath water!

Cleanse Your Energy & Your Space
Cleanse your energy and your space during the Full Moon to get rid of of any accumulated, residual or unwanted energies that may be lurking in your energy field or space. You can cleanse your energy and your space by burning herbs like sage, cedar, juniper, lavender, or rosemary.
Using essential oils and oil diffusers, as well as crystals and stones can be used to raise the vibration of yourself and your space. You may also use sound healing and vibrations with singing bowls, binaural beats, guided meditations or a tongue drum. This will clear your energy field which can help you feel lighter and allow space.
Spend Time Outdoors
Nature and fresh air is soothing for the soul. Slow down, quiet down, and spend some time to disconnect from your daily responsibilities and obligations and reconnect with yourself, the earth, and the moon. Feel the dirt with your fingers, inhale the fresh air, listen to the birds sing, touch the bark on the trees, smell the woody forest and sweet flowers, play with the sand, rocks and grass, take some quiet time to connect with the moon and the energy of Gaia and experience the different textures, sounds, sensations, vibrations smells, and feelings of the Earth.

Self Love and Nurturing
Do something nice for yourself during the Full Moon with a self care or self love ritual. What are some nice things you can do for yourself during the Full Moon? Is there something you have been wanting to do for yourself but haven’t because you do not have the time? Take this time to do something special for you that will bring you fun, joy or relaxation. Also take this time to reflect on your needs. Maybe this is a time where you need self forgiveness or a time to integrate self-kindness. It’s important to treat yourself like you would a good friend and look after yourself emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Salt Bath & Self cleanse
Honor yourself and your body during the Full Moon by relaxing with a purifying salt bath or performing a self cleansing ritual. If you have a bathtub you can treat yourself to a cleansing salt bath and even include some essential oils if you’d like. If you don’t have a bathtub you can do a cleansing meditation in the shower or perform a cleansing ritual.
Our energy fields can become overwhelmed and effected from the overuse of technology, working, daily life stresses, and other people/situations. Taking some time to decompress and detox the toxins out of your body will leave you feeling refreshed, renewed, and revitalized!
Journaling & Writing
The Full Moon is a perfect time to write all of your feelings, emotions, intentions, out on paper. This can help clear your mind and help to release what is holding you back and weighing you down. The Full Moon energy can assist you with purging, releasing and cleansing anything in your life that is no longer in alignment with who you are. This can be releasing negative energy, feelings, emotions, bad habits, toxic relationships, toxic behaviors, residual energy, and releasing anything that is no longer serving your highest good. In addition to journaling, you may also find you are inspired to creatively write or are more artistic and inspired to create art during a Full Moon.
Meditation & Self Reflection
Although the energy of the Full Moon can give you a boost of energy or excitement, the Full Moon is also good time to rest, self reflect, and meditate. You cannot pour from an empty cup so it is vital to make some quiet time for yourself. Quiet your mind and use this period to slow it down. The Full Moon is the perfect time to focus and move inwards to spend some time to self reflect and release.
What things in your life are you grateful for and happy with? Is there anything you would like to change in your life? Is there something holding you back that you would like to release? This is a perfect time to ask yourself questions, as well as check in with yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually to see where you would like to make changes or move in new directions in certain aspects of your life.
Move Your Body
The energy boost from the Full Moon can help motivate and inspire you to move your body and get your energy flowing. Whether it be dance, yoga, a sport, a special activity, or going for a walk or a run, moving your body and getting your energy to flow can be beneficial for your mind, body, and soul.
Use the Moonlight
The moonlight from a Full Moon will not only cleanse and charge your crystals and moon water, but it will also cleanse and charge you and your own energy. Try sitting outside in the moonlight under a Full Moon to experience the cleansing and healing energies from the moon.
Connect With The Moon
Spend some time to connect with the Moon in a way that works best for you. This can be as simple as gazing at the moon, talking to the moon, sitting under the moon light, admiring the moon, taking photos of the moon, completing a spell or ritual under the moon, making moon water, meditating on the full moon energy, etc. Finding different ways to connect with the moon can help your connection with the moon strengthen and grow and can help you benefit from the powerful energies of the Full Moon.
